Is the second birth usually easier?

Just curious; I'm pregnant with my second child and was wondering if the majority of you had quicker/easier vaginal births the second time around. Also, did you find the healing time was quicker as well? I remember an awful recovery that took weeks for me to walk around without discomfort, and it took almost a year for the sex to feel normal again! I'm hoping this time will be different!

Based solely on feedback, in a way the second time around is easier in that you know what to expect, and how to deal with how you are postpartum. In your case, you could research things that can help ease recovery time, such as better positioning, hot towel compresses, olive oil, or healing oils that the hospital might let you use. As for sex feeling "normal", I don't know. I knew that it would feel different, it did take time for me to figure out new muscular reactions but eventually we adjusted and created a "new normal". I know the old fashioned way of doing Kegels by envisioning those muscles clenching and moving a pencil tend to help with post-partum sex way better than the more modern way of stopping your urine midstream. I hope that helps!
