When the days get shorter, people with SAD may lose interest in daily activities, sleep more, crave sweets and starches, and gain weight. They may also feel hopeless and irritable , have trouble concentrating, and withdraw from socializing.

Do you feel that the shorter days and winter months make your depression worse? Do you notice any kind of change this time of year?

I definitely do. Overall I just become more down and less active. We're in Minne so the winter affects getting outside. This is the first fall I bought a broad spectrum light to use. I've been using about 90% of the time for the past few weeks. I think it does help a bit.
