I went to my future SIL's bridal shower last night and of course everyone was full of questions for me, #1 being what we're going to name the baby (we're not sharing and are stull undecided until we meet her).

Thank you. :) I had a good Dr appt today, baby is head down and NOT posterior (but I have 6 weeks or so to go and she still rolls around--but the head down is good).

"How did you feel about the decision to VBAC on #3 after it ended in c/s?"----I have no regrets at all about trying to vbac my 3rd. It was actually my 'best' labor of all 3 kids so far, even though I ended with a c/s. I'm sure I'll feel the same after this baby, but it would be nice to have someone here that was more encouraging.

Chantel,

I'm glad to hear your dr is so supportive! That is wonderful. I wish your family was more supportive. Is there any way you can get a doula to help you have a successful vbac? Maybe if you told your family how they can help you (even something small) they would be more supportive? I don't know if that will help or not. Please let us know how you're doing.

Hi Chantel!

I'm glad to hear that she's getting into position for you. I hope she stays not posterior for you! You have the confidence that you can give this another try and your doctor has confidence in you too and that's great! Like Elaine said, your family just doesn't know any better. Are they on iVillage or some other place where they can find out that what's in the news isn't always correct? Lots of members have posted here about their successes and I'm sure you will too. :)

Good luck! I can't wait to hear your good news :)

Chantel..... (((HUGS))) I don't know if you've had your baby yet or not but I wish you the best of luck with your VBA2C. I, too, have had "well-meaning" friends and family be negative about the whole VBAC attempt and telling me that I "should just have the csection and keep the baby safe." My own father said that to me! as well as others. Lean on your dr and let her know that no one is being supportive of your decision to VBAC and that you need her and her staff's support espcially. Don't beat yourself up over not having a VBAC with #3.... that was one big baby! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that everything turns out just how you need it to be. Wish I could be there with you for support!

Hi there! I just wanted to tell you there are some tricks for turning a posterior baby. I had a friend who it worked for. The instructor for our natural birth class told us about it. Your partner stands behind you and you both wrap your hands around your lower belly and you kind of hang your weight there. She said not to do it unless you were ready for labor because it could bring on contractions. I would look into it if I were you. I don't know if it is ok for a vbac mom to do it. Not sure what kind of stress it might put on the uterus, but it might be worth looking into. Good luck and keep your chin up!
