Just e-mailed a local midwife at a VBAC friendly hospital which is only about 15 minutes from us ( was surprised bc none of the other local hospitals are VBAC friendly).

The MW i contacted can't do it but I did here back from a local doula network that i had contacted and i called one of the docs and made an appointment, it's not till 12/13, ugh it's gonna be a long 3 weeks. But that gives me time to do more research and get my surgical records sent there and to gently talk to my current MW about my intentions. I had asked the receptionist at the new office if the doc does VBA2C and she said yes on a case by cae basis, which is what i expected. I also called the other hospital that i am interested in but got disconnected while on hold so I'll have to call them back after kids go to nap so i have more time to hold (its a BIG hospital) and talk to them. I was feeling like chickening out, but doing all of this and being proactive i feel like the old me. I suppose i never really let go of my hopes to have a natural birth even though for 2 years i had been telling myself that i had. Please cross fingers and send happy VBAC thoughts that i will be a good candidate!!!!

I am a little surprised myself, as Philadelphia and its surrounding subs (where i live) isn't very VBAC friendly from what I've read/encountered. I was told by the other MW who was unable to take me on as a patient to try Hospitals in Reading PA, which is really far, too far for my taste, prob about 2 to 2.5 hours away. I just don't want to labor that long with no monitoring, or be told to turn around and go home if it's not the real deal KWIM? I just wish my current MW would be able to do it, I really have a connection to her, but I think she will understand.
