Ladies Need Labor Vibes
Thu, 02-25-2010 - 1:05am

If I don't have my daughter by Monday I am scheduled for a repeat CS. I was so hoping for a VBAC and not have to go through major surgery again. :( Please send labor vibes my way.

I had my membranes stripped again for the third week in a row. I've had cramping all night off and on and am hoping this is a good sign that I will go into labor very soon. Has anyone had this experience? Nothing happened with the first two strippings.

For what it's worth, I'm told having some "fun time" with DH/SO (their manjuice has something that ripens the cervix) and nipple stimulation can help jump start labor...

Also, I was told eating raw pineapple is supposed to help (but it never worked for me...I was locked up tighter than fort knox....but I like if there's a small chance it might work...why not??

One thing I have to say...If I were you I just wouldn't show up for a c-section and wait for your body to go in to labor on its own. After all, they cannot force you into it. So, even if Monday comes and nothing, don't consent to one. That being said, someone told me walking with one foot on the curb and one on the street helps, also the usuals such as nipple stim and (gasp) castor oil. But, honestly, I would just wait until it happens on its own. Labor vibes...labor vibes...

Either buy a great new maternity outfit or take the older kid to a jump house. (I'm not sure one or the other didn't start my VBAC labor)

Labor vibes are being sent your way-- the fact that you're feeling some cramping is probably a good sign.

You already know all of the natural "induction" tricks-- I'd do the fun ones, and I love the suggestion to do something just for yourself that has *nothing* to do with labor or the baby. I've talked to a bunch of ladies who said that scheduling a massage, or planning to go out ended up in labor starting. ;)

Good luck! Get lots of rest over the next day or so... if labor starts soon, you'll appreciate the rest...

I had my membranes stripped 3 times as well with no result for a few days.
