I had my vbac baby in the tub and it was a wonderful experience. I had already had two vaginal births before my c/s, and I couldn't find a hospital that would allow me to vbac, let alone vbac in water. I found a wonderful m/w who worked in a birth center. The birth center was across the street from the hospital, so I felt safe giving birth there, knowing how quickly I could be in surgery should an emergency arise.

I don't think a lot of hospitals allow women to give birth in water. With you labelled as high risk, the odds aren't good. The hospital may not let you stay in a tub, but they may let you sit in a shower with hot water on your tummy. That may have the same effect that you're looking for - I don't know. Check with your nearby hospitals. They all have their own rules. Having said that, your dr can overrule pretty much anything in a hospital. Talk to your dr and see what he says. Having your dr on your side can help a lot. Let us know what your dr says. Good Luck!

Well i am going to the high risk dr so thats why i am guessing I will be labled as such. I really afraid that I am going to go see him and get scard and not speak up or get upset and cry, Idk. My hubbie is not so happy about the VBAC and its hard to get him on board. I plain on looking more i to the hospital tho....

I'm sorry your dh doesn't want the vbac as much as you do. Maybe showing him statistics of vbac vs rcs would help? My dh was "supportive" but he also didn't think I'd actually be able to vbac, so maybe your dh doesn't want you to get your hopes up, jic you have a rcs? idk. Do you think if your dh talked to your dr it would help or hurt? Maybe a supportive person like a doula could help support you and your dh?

We're here for you to support you in any way we can!

Thank you all so much! I was in contact with a lady from ICAN and OMG they are amazing. I really feel like I will be able to give it my best shot now. I will be changing my doctor in for a midwife and am now looking for a doula!!!! I feel so much more in control and and able to inform my family.

I'm glad you feel more in control! I switched from a dr to a m/w to get my vbac. IMO, it was definitely worth it. Let us know how you're doing.
