Yikes! The u/s tech should have caught the previa at 12 weeks. I had to have a cs because of a complete previa. The good news for you is that it's only partial and your uterus has a lot of growing to do. While the anterior side doesn't grow as much, it should move out of the way enough to not cause a problem in labor. I'm sure your dr has you scheduled for extra u/s to keep an eye on your placenta. Let us know what your future u/s show. GL!

You never know, it''s possible that the previa moved a little bit. Hopefully, it'll continue moving as your uterus continues to grow.

Sending you positive thoughts...

Hi,
I had a complete previa and and anterior placenta with my VBAC baby.I can't remember the exact #, but it is somehting like 80-90% of previas discovered before 20 weeks reslove themselves. Mine did by 20 weeks.

HOWEVER, anterior position of the placenta can cause posterior babies. Positioning is everything, so I would make sure to check out www.spinningbabies.com when you are around 32 weeks.

It will work out, I am sure of it!

And, the uterus does most of its growing in the second and third trimesters. :)

So, I saw my MFM today. He is reluctant to say I have a previa yet because I am only 20 weeks. He expects it to correct itself by 28 weeks. I am going to have another ultrasound in two months and if the placenta is still there, then we will worry.

If your dr isn't worried, then hopefully that's a good sign! My dr called it a previa from the get go, and it refused to budge. So it's good that your dr doesn't even consider it a previa. :)

Let us know how your next u/s goes. GL!
