I tend to be very anxious person too and was nervous in the few weeks before my VBAC, but (like other VBAC mommas had told me before) once I was in labor, I didn't even think about the possibility of anything going wrong.

Anxiety is completely understandable, and I had a lot of it leading into my second delivery. And I have to be honest, my anxiety didn't really disappear once I was in labor. I mean, I wasn't at all anxious about the safety of it (nurses and doctors are really on top of that now), but I was anxious about whether I would be able to get through the labor, and actually deliver vaginally. I found that having supportive staff around me--nurses and doctors that were encouraging me to go for it, and not feeling rushed to have a baby by the end of someone's shift--really helped give me the adrenalin to keep going. And for me personally, the epidural provided some needed relief that allowed me to relax, take a deep breath, and continue on with a sounder state of mind.

If you have a supportive doctor, I would consider it. Good luck! And either way, you'll end up with a beautiful baby....
