Are you superstitious?

Happy Friday the 13th! Does this day make you a little leery of what's around the corner? What about black cats in your path, ladders, and broken mirrors bringing 7 years of bad luck? Do you know of any less-common superstitions?

Be careful out there today!!

No, I'm not superstitious - although many years ago I'd not walk under a ladder, but then again, today I'd probably not walk under a ladder as it just seems to be not the place you should be walking under anyway!

One thing I really hate are those emails that tell you that if you don't send the email out to such and such number of persons, then you are in for bad luck.  Or you won't get the good luck, money or whatever if you do!  I haven't gotten any of those emails for quite a while - thank goodness, but I always just delete them anyway.  Such a bother!  They are just like the old-day chain letters, eh?

I don't think I am superstitious at all. I don't usually walk under ladders just because things fall down if someone is working on it. But we have an all black cat & she hasn't brought me bad luck. Friday the 13th hasn't been bad luck-sometimes if I'm outside, I'll stoop to look to see if there is a 4-leaf clover-but just in passing. (unless my grandchildren are here & that is a good task to keep them amused for a few minutes!)

I love black cats, have had a couple. Would walk under a ladder if there was no other way around but why do it & have something dropped on you. But I do dislike the 13th. I know the reason behind the superstition of Fri the 13th & it still doesn't make me like the number. We have had 13 sit down for dinner & one is dead within a yr. This happened a few times when I was small. My Dad had his first heart attack on Fri the 13th & died 6 yrs later on Thurs the 13th. There have been other things go wrong on the 13th & so I just like to ignore this day. I'm not crazy enough to hide in bed but I do try to forget there is a 13th in every month. lol Dee
