Can you log-in and post?

I'm doing an informal survey to see if anybody besides me can get onto the board. Shirley has emailed me to say that she cannot log in and I'm wondering if the board is so quiet because nobody else can log in, or quiet because there's there's nothing to talk about. So, if you can respond to this post please do!

If you cannot log in and know how to reach me via other means then please let me know what problems you are experiencing. I will tell the Help board CM what the issues are, in the hopes that it helps them know where to focus their efforts. As of Tuesday morning they were aware that the problems with logging in and getting that  "not authorized" page had become worse than before. Today I asked for an update regarding fixing it but so far she has not responded.

On Tuesday it took me about 10 tries to get logged in. I kept getting the "not authorized" page instead of a log in page, and when I did get the log in page it just took me to "not authorized" again, but eventually it worked. And then it stuck---this morning when I came to iVillage I was still logged in from yesterday----just like the good ol' days. Crossing my fingers that I stay logged in....and hoping that the rest of you have the perseverance to keep trying to get logged in, and then that you will stay logged in after that.

Not without that login site sent yesterday. And even then, when I first go onto a board, if I haven't gone to that login page first, it has my signon and says welcome, and then it bumps me back out and tells me I'm not authorized.  I'd just started responding to this post and it bumped me back off as I hadn't started by logging on; it showed I was still in, but then seconds later I got bounced.  So no, I have to log in every time, and without that site it tells me, even when I try, that I'm not authorized when I DO try to log in.  SO I've bookmarked that page and now go in that way. Serious hassle but it works.

Further info - it doesn't matter if I click 'keep me logged in' or not; if I get out of the browser, or even just out of ivillage and try to go back, I'm no longer logged in when I try to get back in. So I have to go to that login site every time. Once I'm in, I stay in, and go to different boards, but as soon as I leave the ivillage site, I'm logged out and am 'not authorized' to log back in by either of the 'sign in' spots on the page.

I'm glad that the link is working for you. I had been having a problem with iV logging me out when I moved from one board to another. Just now, when I hit "reply" it logged me out but I waited a bit and the page refreshed and it logged me back in. Ridiculous. We're so accustomed to the internet working quickly (as the name "high speed" implies that it will!) that we aren't used to waiting for slow pages. BTW the "keep me logged in" was not working for me until yesterday, and it may still be a fluke.

Here's what the Tech CM had to say in response to my request for an update:

There isn't an update as far as a fix time frame, but they are working on it. The forums aren't the only part of the site experiencing issues, unfortunately, so it's larger scale issue that we're dealing with.

That login link should work for all. Do you know if there is an error message? Are they still just getting the access denied note? I've been able to log in on my desktop and phone using the link, but the key is making sure that nothing appears at the end of the URL in the address bar. I know sometimes if I paste a link, it will try to auto-complete it for me. Matter of fact it just did it earlier.

If they are still having issues, can you please have them email me at techtalk@mail.ivillage.com? Thanks!

Well-here I am!!

I tried, so many times, so many days-to log in & got the "not authorized to access" line that I came close to throwing the computer out the window.

You have to wonder if they do care-if they do want iVillage to continue. Hopefully those above the CM's will do their best to make it work regularily.

I cannot log in AT ALL from my Android.  It took me a ridiculously long time, and number of attempts,  to log in from my desktop.  With Bree being a toddler now, I rarely have time to sit, much less play with a sign-in for 20 minutes, and then have it log me out every time I switch to another board.  I read the boards occasionally, but the pages take a ridiculous amount of time to load on my android, so I do that less and less also.

I feel Ivillage has abandoned the boards, probably because it costs them too much money for a paltry return on advertising dollars.  Too bad, because I posted here for probably 20 years, and my kids grew up along with many of the families here.  Too bad it ends with a whimper.

For Heaven's Sake!  I finally found the way to the board!  It was rather convoluted and if I have to do that every time...well, hmm...I don't know.  I do hope ivillage is working hard to fix the problem so we can sign on with one try and so I don't have to go through a few pages to finally find this board!  Ugh.  I almost gave up.  But Erin of ivilllage did suggest I go to ivillage.com at the bottom of the home page that comes up after I sign in on that link you gave us Elspeth.  There I did find our message board finally.  And being finally actually 'signed on' it allowed me to get to this page to write my post in reply to yours, Elspeth!

Thats all I wlll say for now.
