Day one down.

Stephanie completed her fiirst day of chemo.  She was pretty stressed while they were doing the preliminary blood work so they gave her xanax and a prescription for some in the future.

Since she just had the port put in yesterday it was still pretty tender but aside from that the  procedure went well.   DH, DD3, Stephanie's boyfriend and I were all able to be there.  Basically we just sat around and talked and played with our phones/tablets.  I guess she took a little nap when DH, DD3 and I went out for lunch.

She made herself a new boyfriend.  A 60's man who was there for treatment stopped on his way out  and talked with her. welcomed her etc.

She goes back next week for some more blood work and her next chemo is on March 13.

How good that so many of you in the family are there to support Stephanie during her chemo sessions, as well as the support you show her all other times during this difficult point in her life.  I hope the chemo doesn't affect her too negatively, although I know little about this first hand.

Take care,

Shirley

Thank you for keeping us updated.  Can't imagine what your family is going thru.  Just want to give Stephanie kudos for going thru this process.  Also glad to see Stephanie has such a great support team.

While Stephanie is dealing with something awful, she is very fortunate to have such a loving & supportive family. I'm sure you appreciates you all. I hope the after affects aren't too difficult for her. Dee

How is Stephanie doing? Did the chemo make her sick? I hope that she doesn't have too rough a time of it. Its really nice that the whole family can accompany her to the appointments and treatments to support her and keep her company. Crossing my fingers that her blood levels come back okay next week.

Don't know about today.    But as if yesterday she had no nausea.  They gave her medicine for it in her IV and said that she would probably not have any for the a day or two.   She has meds to take for it as needed.
