Will you be doing anything special this weekend? Family get-together, a special meal, dyeing eggs?

I've been asked to bring a dessert to MIL's on Sunday - I found what sounds like a great recipe for a triple chocolate bundt cake that I will then frost .  I got the candy this morning to use in the 'nest'. Hope it comes out.

Otherwise I'm off today (odd day off for the company but I'll take it) so I just bought 5 new pillows at Target to spruce up the livingroom.  DS said it was kinda dull, and with the leather furniture in there he's right, so I got some bright, fun pillows.  I like them...

Man, this iVillage is acting wonky again.  But it has never been 100% functioning again or as well as it did before the 'change'.  I thought I wasn't going to get to reply to this post, but suddenly I got to the reply posting page to write this!

Anyway we'll have the usual ham Easter dinner on Sunday and I've bought foil wrapped milk chocolate Lindt bunnies for the 'kids' and Ray.  I want a dark chocolate bunny for myself, but they ran out (or never had?) any in the store I shopped in for them.  Anyway aside from laying out the pale blue tablecloth (which is my 'spring' colour tablecloth) and maybe some Easter decorations on the table (which I'll have to dredge out for storage somewhere)...that  may be it for my Easter decorating.  Oh yeah, I have to consider supplying a dessert - maybe a pie.  I don't know.  I'm not feeling 100% yet and not keen to go all out in effort for the Easter dinner this year.

I'm not sure that Christine has this Sunday off.  I guess the bar/restaurant continues to be open.  And she was slated to work on Sunday, but she may see if she can switch her shift with someone else.

Michael is meeting up with two Calgary friends who are in London this weekend.  That is to say, he's flying over there to meet up with them. They actually 'were' a couple...but have recently broken up!  Since, I assume, they had all their plans made for this overseas trip, they are going on the trip nevertheless but now Michael has to spend time with each of them separately while in London.  They've worked out a schedule for him as to when to be with whom.  It is also his 32nd birthday on Easter Sunday.  Michael and we usually Skype on Sundays but since he'll be in London this weekend, we'll wait until the Sunday after to chat on Skype with him again.  So I hope he has a good time while in London and has a special fun time on his birthday.

Guess that's it for now.

The closest thing to "special" that we'll be doing is what we will eat for breakfast or brunch on Easter, which is a holdover from when the kids were younger. I got some Challah and I'll hard boil some eggs on Saturday (but won't dye them). We have a jar of homemade raspberry jam from a friend that I'll open. For dinner that night I might make a chicken dish that's slightly more "elegant" than what we normally eat but it will be just the two of us.

Otherwise it should be a fairly routine weekend. Dh is off of running for a while, he has officially accepted that his knee is injured and needs to heal. He withdrew from both the 50 miler and the 100 miler and fortunately they will refund his entry fees. So with more time on his hands and less exercise to burn off his energy I may be dealing with an antsy husband!

Netflix says that the DVD of Anna Karenina will arrive on Saturday so we'll probably watch that on Sat nite.

  Nothing special this weekend.

Last weekend was extremely busy so am looking forward to some down time.  Did my regular grocery shopping trip this morning and have one more shopping errend to run.

The last two times that Stephanie had chemo I made her lasagna, this time I am making chicken penne.  I will probably do that today.   I am also going to make some hot dog chili for a pot luck next week, will probably do that tomorrow.

I'm a bit late here as it's Sunday morning but when I tried to respond on Fri, ivillage had other plans. Fri was DH's 61st birthday & we had a quiet day. I made him a special steak dinner & he was a happy guy because all 3 of the kids tried calling at the same time. I was on my cell texting with the other 2 telling them when they could call back. He expected them to just text or email him as none of my kids like to talk on the phone. So he was one very happy guy after spending an hr talking to them. Yesterday was our Easter dinner with turkey & the trimmings. DH picked up my Mom & stepDad & my DS2 & his fiancee came. I set the table with different kinds of Easter Eggs in a variety of bowls but didn't buy Easter gifts this year which is a first. Today is a quiet, lazy day. I will make brunch for the kids before they leave & then turkey soup for dinner. Dee
