How is everybody doing today? Have you had a good week? Do you have any plans for the weekend? Will you have good weather for getting outdoors? Tell us what you are up to.

It was a busy Wednesday and Thursday for me.  I zoomed off to Canmore to Susanne's and I helped her buy and plant a bunch of annual flowers in her flower boxes and pots.  It was a fair amount of work...probably too becasue both of us are feeling various aches and pains and so we moved slowly and groaned a fair amount as we did the job of planting.  Which you wouldn't think is hard work, but like I said, I think our physical limitations made it somewhat more difficult.  However it got done, and the weather was wonderful, especially on Thursday (I stayed overnight and we finished the planting job that morning).  The sun was shining on new snow on the mountain peaks, the newly sprouted green leaves just glowed brightly against the dark fir trees on the lower mountain slopes and the flowering ornamental crab apple trees were at their peak in blooming - just gorgeous!

Tomorrow is the community-wide garage sale and we have our items ready (for the most part) for the sale.  The weather may be a bit 'iffy' - with some shower activity predicted.  I hope the showers hold off till much later in the day, if possible.  I don't particularly enjoy putting on a garage sale.  I am hoping we sell a lot, get rid of a lot of stuff (lots of my dd's toys, would you believe?  And she's almost 25 years old!).  What doesn't sell must then go to charity or second-hand stores.  We really need to reorganize our garage - even selling the toys and whatnot will  not completely get rid of all that is stored in there.  But it's a start!

I'm getting ready to join my dd to go shopping at Ikea.  She needs a few things for her apartment.  And I was agreeable to spending time with her to do this bit of shopping.

So I must move along!

The week ended up better than I expected.   I had a jury summons  on Tuesday and I thought that and being so busy at work would prevent me from going to chemo but it all worked out.

Tuesday was a bit crazy though.  Had to be at the courthouse as 8:30.  I was released at about 10:00 and told to be back to be on a panel at 1;30, so I went home changed my clothes, went to work,  worked for a couple of hours then went back home, had lunch, took a shower and went back to court.  I was there until about 2:45 when the case was settled out of court, then went back to work and worked for another couple of hours.  Living only  about a mile from the court house and about 2.5 miles from work made it doable.

Chemo went well, because we were both so busy at work DH and I did not stay the entire time.

Tonight we have dinner at the Veteran's Center.   We will be doing DD3s birthday/Father's Day celebration on Sunday.  DD3's birthday is next Friday but she will be out of town so that is why we are moving them up.

The weather is beautiful,  upper 80's which is a bit low for this time of year so we are really enjoying it.  Three days this week I took a bike ride before work but I only have time to ride about 30-45 minutes so hope to take a longer ride in the morning and possibly on Sun.

Well, if the rain doesn't stop-I will begin building an ARK because we are going to need it!

But, if it does stop-I will get out to weed the garden, mow the lawn & get some sun because it's been awhile! We've even had to have some heat on-it's been cool & damp lately!

I have started riding my bike too-although this morning, I could have used some little windshield wipers on my glasses. I don't mind getting wet-but it sure is hard to see around the drops! I need to be more vigilant with my bike riding & healthy eating as my fasting blood sugar level was a bit higher than it should have been this week-so she's giving me a second chance. I need to lose some weight-which means eating better & exercising more! I know what to do-I just need to do it!

"Nester, your Tuesday does sound crazy. Is the courthouse in the heart of the downtown, or elsewhere in the city?  That schedule wouldn't have worked here, the courthouse is smack downtown where the parking is limited and expensive---I have somebody drop me off when I have jury duty.

Your dd is having the chemo treatments more frequently now, isn't she? And then the surgery sometime during the summer? I think you told us but I don't remember, sorry. Will there be more treatments (radiation or chemo) after the surgery? What did your dd's think about Angelina Jolie's surgery?

Hope your "cooler" weather holds for a while. Good job on the weekday morning bike rides!

Shirley, good luck with the garage sale, I hope that you sell lots so you don't have to pack much up and cart it somewhere to donate.

How did the Ikea shopping trip go? Is your dd's apartment coming together?

I had a pretty good week. Last Sunday I borrowed my neighbor's rototiller and prepared my planting beds, but by the time I finished I was too tired to plant anything. I plant in the late afternoon so the plants have a chance to recover before the hot sun is beating down on them, so M-T-W evening I plugged away at it and got all of the starts in the ground. There are a few more things I want to plant which will require another trip to the nursery, maybe this weekend.

Nothing in particular planned for the weekend, for me. Dh has agreed to pace a runner friend in the 100 mile race. He's still somewhat injured but he can do a short section, about 8 miles, which will be mostly uphill (walking) or flat. He will join her at mile 72 I think so she probably won't be running very fast anyway! He expects his section to be from about 4am until 6-7am on Sunday morning. So a lot of his Saturday and Sunday will be spent sleeping at odd times.

I'm hoping to Skype with dd this weekend, haven't talked to her in a long time and next weekend she leaves for a week in Paris! Last weekend we had a 2 hr Facetime with ds so we're caught up with him.

The court house is in the downtown area..   There are no parking issues there is a bit of street parking and parking garage next door all free.

Yes she is doing weekly chemo, that will be followed by surgery and then 6 weeks of radiation.
