How was your weekend?

Did it involve anything related to St Patrick's Day such as corned beef and cabbage? What's coming up this week?

No St Paddy's hoopla for us. We're having a low-key weekend. Saturday was warm, Sunday has been HOT---it got to 91F for a while. To those of you in the snow zone I suppose that sounds great but to me that's too hot for March, I'm not acclimated to the heat yet. Plus I'm afraid that my cool weather veggies are all going to bolt and that will be the end of them.

Ds is in the area. He arrived Thurs night late and left for the desert on Friday morning to go "jeeping" with a buddy. He'll be back sometime today or tonight, and fly back north on Monday morning. We've had a little visiting with him, and if he gets here early enough we'll take him out to dinner.

Shirley and Ray will be arriving here at the end of the week, sometime Friday I think. So far there are no set plans for what we will do or when. Before they get here I'd better do some housecleaning!

Went to SIL's annual St Pat's party last night - we were both tired so we didn't stay that long. Went to Kimmswick, MO yesterday with a friend - it was gorgeous; got to 71. Today we had snow and it's 35 going to 19 tonight.  Typical St Louis weather - up/down, etc.   Today ds came by, took some pictures with the experimental cameras he has for class - they named their 4 big ones (5x7 negatives) - he has Oswald. Funny.  Helped him pack some things for the Milwaukee trip - we'll get his cat during that time.  Otherwise pretty uneventful - watched F1 (glad the season has started) and looking forward to Walking Dead tonight.

Well, we certainly didn't have to worry about it being "Too Hot"-it has been quite cold again. It was -18C (0F) but it didn't snow much again. In fact, I braved the cold & hung my clothes outside-now most things are draped around just finishing the drying process. If the wind is "just so" & there is sunshine-they will mostly dry, even when it is about -8C as it was this afternoon. (FYI-I do have a clothesdryer-I just hate using the electricity to use it!) It is forecast to warm up slowly-with definite setbacks to cold until the end of March.

As for the weekend-not much is happening. I have several knitting & sewing projects taking time. Mike has been doing all sorts of things around here-most I cannot do. The biggest job left is to sand & re-finish the hardwood floors. Once that is done, the rest of wall-washing can be done & then the wait for more snow/ice melting.

So a quiet weekend-busy enough with little things, but nothing big. And certainly not idle-never that.
