And today is Groundhog Day, or as they call it in Alaska, Marmot Day. According to the official groundhog Pete there will be an early spring which I'm sure is good news to some of you.

Besides dreaming of spring flowers arriving early, what's in store for the month of February for you?

So far our winter has been pretty good.... not much snowfall and lots of sunny days and even a lot of above freezing temperatures.  Hard to say if we'll continue to have such pleasant winter weather for February and the thing is, even if so, our spring weather can bring snowfalls here in our higher elevation - We could get a big snowfall in March, April and occasionally even May.  I don't pay any credence to the groundhog prediction (well, really, does anyone?) but I think our Groundhog day was pretty sunny as far as I remember.

There is not much on February's agenda for me other than another visit to the rheumatologist on Feb. 25th.  The rest of my calendar is pretty clear.  I'm hoping that this month will bring complete healing to my bursitis on my knee.  It seems quite stubborn now to not want to heal!  Unfortunately there's little else to mention about February for me.  Just a winter month to get through with hopefully not too much wintery cold weather!

The birthdays in our family run in bunches mine starts them on Wed,  DD3 boyfriend's is the 11th. We had planned on celebrating them both tonight but because of the news about Stephanie and DD3 being ill we decided to move it to next Sat.  The reason we usually do the celebration the weekend before my birhday instead of the weekend between our birthdays  is because that  weekend is his celebration with his family.  Since he  will not be able to join us next weekend  we are planning another get together during the week for his birthday.

I have a doctors appointment on Wed for a mammogram (my birthday) and then an appointment for a bone density test on the 19th (my mother's birthday).

February is a big month for birthdays in our family. SIL's bday is the 13th and her ds is on the 17th (she lives in Spain and he lives in L.A. so we won't be celebrating with either of them). My dd turns 27 on the 18th, unfortunately we won't see her either. The 17th is our 35th wedding anniversary.

We will be attending a wedding (son of one of the college buddies) in the Palm Springs area on the 16th and spending the night there. No plans to do anything special on our anniversary; and we have to get home because I don't want to leave the cat yet for more than one night...we don't know her well enough yet to know how she will act when alone for an extended period. We did leave her alone last Sunday for about 10 hrs and no problems so hopefully she'll be good for longer periods.

Speaking of the cat, she goes to the vet for shots next Thursday and then I can schedule the neutering. Probably after Palm Springs as I don't want to leave her for hours until the incision is completely healed.

So far that's all that's on the calendar.

My birthday is this month but otherwise nothing exciting here.  Just the usual up and down weather and busy at work.  DH is still in his MBA classes (6 more and a project before he's done), I still have volleyball mid week (nice way to break it up).  I've got a ton of stuff on my plate at work which will really heat up next week.  If they go, I'll continue going with my in laws estate saleing on Saturdays.

Feb doesn't have much on the agenda yet. We are moving Mom out of her retirement home on Mon, then into the luxory resort that the new retirement home people are paying for until their resort is finally completed. Taking one day at a time with Sandy but may take last min trip somewhere warm the end of Feb if baby continues to bake. I think we are to find a suit for my DS2 to wear to his wedding & I hope to get modivated & do some sewing as I am way behind in things.
