Ladies, grab your camera, cell phone or tablet and take a picture of the weather you are enjoying today. The sun is shining and the sky is blue here but it's truly a Canaduan day with lots of snow on the ground & oh so cold.  It is currently -19 c with wind chill of -30c. We have a snow squall warning (due to end soon) & extreme cold warning.  There is a possibility of more snow later today. It has been snowing since Sat. DH has been trying to keep ahead of the snow but the plough can't lift it any higher now so he is having to fill in more of the driveway. Our dog runs out when she can't wait any longer, does her thing & rushes back in. Normally she loves to play in the snow.  We dressed warm & drove into our little village for the mail & a few groceries. DH won't let me go in myself or in my car even though it has all wheel drive & top of the line snows. We took his big SUV which was a good thing as the roads weren't great due to blowing snow. DH gets a bit more freaked out than I do with this weather.  I lived in Ottawa & surrounding areas when I was growing up so this stuff is normal but I do wish we haven't changed our minds about booking a trip to Cuba for this Friday. It would have been nice to get away to the warm Sun.

Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

You probably don't really want me to post a picture of my weather, I try to not talk about it much at this time of year lest you think I'm gloating LOL. Its 68F/20C with high clouds so not as warm as it has been---yesterday got into the mid-70s. I've just finished planting another bed in the front: swiss chard starts at the rear, pansies and English daisies on the sides and front, and beet seeds in the center. What I need to be doing is pruning the roses even though some of them are still blooming. See, you didn't really want to hear about that!

Bring it on, it will give me hope that some day we will have warmer weather again. I'm even pleased to hear about your gardening & I don't like to garden. It's great to think of someone not trapped in snow. Post a picture of your pretty flowers. Dee

Gargggh.  Only 1 of the pics I took is under 2mb, which is all stupid Ivillage will accept.  So you get the late afternoon shot of the paths Ed plowed in the yard for the dogs.  14" tall dogs get lost in 20" of snow, not to mention drifts!

Let's see if this works.  I tried compressing it.  This was a cool shot, with the wind blown snow softening the pic.

Great pics, ladies. Hope you are safe & warm. We went a little further today & the roads were very icy. One of my neighbour was traveling down a country road about a mile from home when a jack rabbit ran in front of the car. She ended up in the ditch when she tried to avoid it but was pleased the rabbit was safe. We offered to help pull her out when we drove by a few mins after but her hubby said he had it under control. We didn't argue as it was cold out there. Dee

I agree with Elspeth about downplaying her SD weather.  Especially when her daughter is trying to limit her frigid outdoor runs in NYC.  Let me tell you elc - your daughter & I have been keeping ourselves indorrs as muc as possible.  We would REALLY REALLY appreciate you bottling up some of the WARM SUNNY San Diego weather & flying it 1st class to NYC.  I'll tell you one thing, after these cold days, I'll be making reservations for whatever convention is held in San Diego next Jan.  Not dealing with this again.

Picture attached is outside my frigid apartment.
