What will you be doing on Thursday for Independence Day? I know that our Canadian friends will be doing whatever they normally do on a Thursday, but will the US friends be doing anything special?
At this time of year I always remember a little saying that my dad would share, although it doesn't make sense anymore, at least not in California. The "backstory" is that when I was a kid, liquor stores here were not open on holidays; in fact, almost all retail stores were closed on the major holidays. (now I think they can sell liquor everyday between 6am-2am in CA). So my dad's reminder was: "First thing on the third, take a second to get a fifth for the Fourth". Cute, huh?
So as a Just Wondering question, where you live are there restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages? Is hard liquor or beer or wine sold in supermarkets or do you have to go to a special shop? Are Sundays or holidays "dry" where you live?
