Surgery scheduled.

DD2's surgery was scheduled. It will be March 7th. It is the week before spring break so she has 11 days to recover.
It will be out patient surgery.
Here's wishing all goes well, 'nester. My adult son (DS3) had his tonsils out a few years ago. I hope your DD does not have his experience where the wound would not stop bleeding shortly after the surgery. If I remember correctly, he didn't go home but was admitted to ICU and was made unconscious (forgot what they gave him but the nurse called it their pet name of "mother's milk" - Nora maybe you would know) so that the wound would have a better chance of healing while he was basically 'out' of it for a while. It was kind of scary but it wasn't too long after that the situation improved. I hope your DD will avoid such a situation as this. Perhaps you know the risks are greater than with a young child, but I never thought we'd go through this - never really wanting to believe it could happen. So I do wish the best for your DD.

Will your DD return to your place post-op?
Forgive me for reverting to my previous life-but don't have ice cream ready for her. (Milk tends to coat the throat & feel uncomfortable). Popsicles & non-acidic juices & ice chips-no ice cream-will help her recuperate. Also you might want to look into liquid analgesics rather than pills-easier to go through the raw area of her throat.
Hopefully a quick & easy recovery for her. A little pampering, a lot of parental love & she'll be better in no time!

Yes, she will be staying with us for recovery. She lives in a third floor walk-up apartment. Our house will be a lot easier to navigate.
