Poor Patrick, this is so sad for him. Can he apply for disability EI payments to help tie him over until he gets better? I'm assuming he was on probation & therefore could be terminated like he was. Although, I would suggest that he give Alberta Human Rights Commission & the Alberta Employment Standards a call to see if he can be dismissed due to a health problem. Each province has different rules. I have a case pending in Alberta where one of our employee's requested a medical leave with pay to deal with a family member's non life threatening illness. They weren't entitled under our medical leave program. So have filed a claim against us with Albert Human Rights.

It's hard to balance between the GP's advice & the chiro. I tend to go with chiro when dealing with muscles & such. Although, I'm a big fan of a acupuncturist for dealing with pain & stress. I hope someone figures out what is wrong soon & he gets help. Then hopefully he can find an even better job.

Sending P&PTs to Patrick.

Your suggestions and info have given me something to think about and I will pass these on to my son.

Thanks, Dee, for alerting me to some of the issues re work and disability which I am so ignorant about myself, (not being employed long in my life and never having had this happen to me either)...but yes, you brought up some things that can be looked into.
