Our new folder is finally here! My vision is that it will be a place to discuss a variety of issues. Initially the idea was just a place to discuss issues relating to our grown children--concerns, problems, brags or vents. We all know that just because our kids are chronologically adults and maybe even off on their own that we still have worries about them, and sometimes they bring their problems to us.

Then there was interest expressed for a place to talk about where our lives as parents and as individuals go after our kids are grown. How will we spend this next phase of our lives?

Good choice on the title for the new folder. Great idea on the aging parents. There used to be a caregivers board years ago. I know that I'm definitely in the middle between my grown kids & my aging parents, sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled 2 ways.

Yes, many of us may be of the 'sandwich' generation or however it's called?

Sorry - I just found this folder - I just bookmark the folders vs. the main board. What age qualifies as 'grown kids'?

What age? I don't know...the idea was to have a place devoted to discussing things going on with our kids or parents, things that didn't quite fit with "daily chit chat". Geared towards discussing issues related to family members who don't live with us and thus the issues might not be part of our daily goings-on (but certainly still affect us), but something we want to discuss with others who may have BTDT.

I'm sure that your ds could qualify since he doesn't really live with you anymore.

I'm glad that you found the folder, although you can see that its not terribly busy...probably not a lot of people scroll down to it.
