My kids would say I have a few overused ones - like:

Do you know there are kids who have no food to eat tonight, so eat yours ?

I have quite a few favorite quotes, particularly from eighties comedies and the Simpsons. I am a cheeseball about quoting movies. My favorite Simpson's quote..."There, there...shut up boy.." Homer trying to comfort a distraught Bart.
I quote Peewee's Big Adventure like it is going out of style (which is has-a long long time ago). I also quote poetry and song a lot, and dialogue from literature.
As far as motherhood goes my favorite mom/pregnancy quote is from Carry Fisher who said "Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be."
Ann I tell my oldest that there are starving children who would love to have his food all the time.

Hmm, I know there are some I use on the kids but can't think of them at the moment. Some variation of don't sweat the small stuff, treat others as you want to be treated or if your friends were going to jump off a bridge, would you? lol

For me personally, I read this quote in a book about careers when I was considering the whole return to school thing and love it.

If you are good at something you don't enjoy, imagine what you can accomplish if you do something you love.

I love that quote.

I remember when I was younger I had a strong interest/passion for history and archaeology. My mother commented a number of times on how you can't make money at that. I often wonder what would have happened if I pursued that dream. Maybe I would be doing a Phd in history.

To this day I love history and remain passionate about learning. Although my previous career in banking was lucrative it was not my passion and consequently I am moving in a new direction.

Ann, my DD is really interested in history too & just expressed an interest in a college that has an archaeology program! I too thought, hmm, wonder what she could do with that but will not say anything to her.

I agree about the career change, I was on a good career path in my old job but it was soo not how I want to spend the next 20+ years.
