Wow, it really has been quiet! I never liked the old style, even with a pop up blocker, this site runs really slow on my old machine. I am not sold on the changes yet but will give it a shot.
I'm officially on fall break & should have a 4.0. This semester has not been nearly as bad as last year so I'm thankful for that! Lately, my computer time has been spent helping DD research colleges! I realized that as a junior, she needs to get serious about forming a list and going on visits.
She competes in show choir & is part of the school musical so that takes up Jan-Apr. I'll be student teaching til May so unless we do visits next summer, she doesn't have much time to see them before starting to apply next fall. With any luck, I'll be teaching next fall but that means I won't have any time to take off for visits then either.
She has a list now & I'm trying to see if we can go see one in 2 weeks when she has career/college day at school. Also, DD#2 needs braces & DS might need a change of schools. So it's been a lot of juggling kid needs lately!
Sorry for the book but how is everyone else doing???
Things are alright over here. Having some money problems so I haven't really been in the mood to come online. School is going well. I got accepted into the internation honor society for 2 year colleges so that'll look great on my transcript when I transfer to my next school.
I have been CRAZY busy with work/classes/internship obligations, AND...these new boards run really slowly on my computer. I'm very impatient about waiting for things to load! But hey, I supposed we'll all adjust :)
I don't have anything particularly exciting to mention, except the fact that I am 40% done with my internship...450 more hours to go!
I'm just trying to figure this message board thing out, but I am so freaking stressed out with school! This is my last semester, and I am really struggling to keep up with my homework. I've managed to do well so far, but I feel like I can't take much more of this :(
I'm sorry that you've had a hard time finding the boards. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the new system please let me know and I'll be happy to help. You can contact me at pboards@mail.ivillage.com with ATTN: JEN in the subject line.
I'm with you, I hate the new format. Maybe the format itself is ok, but the "complete list of available boards" is a joke. It's a list of a list of lists, good luck guessing which one you want! I have 1 board that I keep pulled up, I go only forward from that one and can find 1 other that used to be so busy, it was hard to keep up, now we are lucky to have a few posts a day, then I hit my back button and go back where I started.
To be fair, I do like the "quick reply" feature, because I don't have to wait forever for boards to load. I've been playing on ivillage for 11 years, and I'm about done, it's not worth the struggle.
I'm sorry the forum listing is frustrating. I'll pass your feedback on. Is there a different way you'd like to see the message board list presented? If I can get more details of what you'd like to see, that would be even better. Thanks for bringing this up!
the way it was before, all the boards were listed out on 1 page for the p&p boards, another page for Love, another page for each of the others. Now, the P&P topics are listed with a few boards. So for me to find this board, I have to find the P&P list, figure out which topic (moms like you) click on that to open it, then look down through the boards. But I have another board that should be listed as "moms like you" but is under "coffee break" It's a pain in the rear, and not worth the time it takes to do all this....

I'm still not sure how well I like the new boards, but guess we should just get used to it!
