Textbook Rentals??

I was looking into renting my Anatomy book from chegg.com. The class is 6 weeks and I can't see spending $130 on the book...

Does anyone have any experience with text book rentals?

Ouch! $130 for a book you'll only use for six weeks? Is anyone selling a used copy? I like to write in and highlight my textbooks, so that would be the main reason I'd probably not rent. If the ISBN number on the rental site matches the class info, then I'd think it would be OK.

There are alot of sites out there offering textbook rentals. The one I've use most recently for textbook rentals is Neebo.com. They do textbook rental give-aways every so often too - that's where I got mine. You can usually save quite a bit renting though.

I don't rent text books because I want to be free to do whatever I want to them. I buy ALL my books thru bigwords.com They work like a clearinghouse, so you enter the ISBN, and they search the web for the very best price for you. I only paid full price my very first quarter back to school, because I thought we had no choice. I learned on the first day, in the first class, that books can be bought online. I then did my own research and discovered that my math book that cost me $150 I could have bought online for $20.

I can't imagine taking a 6 week anatomy class! Makes my head spin

I am so lucky that my college does textbook rentals rather than making you buy. It also forces the teachers to not change textbooks constantly and saves us students a ton of money :) . I would definately try renting through an outside source if it wasn't offered through my school though.
