I must confess that since I moved to India in 2003 I feel quite disconnected with certain holidays that were celebrated back home in Switzerland, Easter is probably the one I am the most disconnected from and just don't know how to justify celebrating considering that I'm not even really religious.
Back home Easter in my family was about going to my grandparent's house for lunch, do a egg hunt and waiting for the gifts from the Easter Bunny, I vageuly remember doing a few egg painting session over the years and my mom would if she had time get some branches of a yellow flowered bush we would decorate with little easter ornaments.
While I still hang dear to Christmas and think it is a fun holiday, I just don't feel like going all out for Easter as well, first tehre are no chocolate bunnies or eggs available here, and then it's though to go into the holiday spirit when nothing around you inspire you to do so. I know Christians in the country go to church and that is about it. DH is Hindu so he doesn't even know what Easter is all about.
Are you in a multicultural family with sepcial Easter traditions? Are you celebrating at all?
