I know this is an older show that was on MTV, but I just discovered it last weekend on Hulu. I think it aired back in 2008. One couple was a Mexican-American girl and an African-American boy. I was really surprised that both of their families was so against their relationship. At one point in the show, the boy's father muttered, "If I could choose, she'd be black." The girl's mother was crying and saying that her choice to marry outside her race was like a slap in the face.
How did your family (and his) handle your decision to marry?

My dad knew before I knew and my mum didnt care, which is normal. His mum got silent for the first time in ages and his father asked for another whisky and that was it. Since we are not young and we have done our share of living , I think they all trusted our judgement.
