So when we left we were just getting ready to go into Fantastic Caverns in Springfield, MO. The reason I chose this particular cave was because you didn't have to crawl down into any holes, you just sat in a tram and are able to ride thru the cave. Mom isn't particularly great at climbing due to arthritis in her knees and I am just plain out of shape. Here is a pic of D and Brian outside the cave.

I liked how much history the cave had. It was pretty interesting. Also, it's a "live" cave- meaning it's still growing stalagtites and stalagmites.

We went to Mermac Caverns in MO recently and I too was shocked at the cost, its was over a $100 for the 4 of us, its seems to have a similar history to the one you went to too.

It sounds like Missouri is built on top of tons of caves and caverns. Pretty cool. The thing I liked was not having to climb down any stairs or anything. I remember going to a cave with my sister when we went down there before and you had to go down a huge ladder. No thanks. Too old, fat and out of shape for that now.

What a neat history to go with the sightseeing. I have only been to Carlsbad Caverns - last time was around 1999, so it's been too long for me to remember what it cost. But this is one of the "to do" things on my Branson list. I'm really glad to read it was a hit with your family, and the pics look amazing.

It was a hit. It's a little ways away from Branson though. Maybe 45 minutes? I can't remember now. Seems like we were there pretty quickly though. At first, Hannah wasn't so sure she wanted to go, because she was worried it would be dark but I had shown her pics on the internet and it does have electricity so she agreed to go and did really like it. Mom wasn't so sure about it either and she liked it really well too.
