Branson Pt 5- It's a Stampede!!!

Wednesday morning, we slept in as late as we could. Today was Dixie Stampede day! When we got up, the kids were begging to go fishing. Who knew my kids were such fisherpeople? Brian wasn't getting up so mom and I got up and took the kids to lake. Brian did some laundry and then joined us. That was another thing we liked, having our own laundry right there! These condo's have no housekeeping, so we had to keep washing towels. We didn't mind, I kind of liked not having anyone coming into our space while we were there- it made it feel more "ours".

Wow. First, love Hannah's outfit. She looks beautiful in that hat - it really sets off her hair. Second, how awesome that Donovan got picked! Out of that many people, what are the odds?

Deb, there are so many fun things to do that unless you have a burning desire to see Dixie, I'd do something different. Because it was expensive and it was crowded. Not to say that it wasn't a good show, though, because it really was and when I asked Hannah later about what her favorite thing was, you know that little snot said "Dixie Stampede". Even though she sat there with her arms crossed and a mean look on her face, she still picks it as her favorite. For me, I liked it as far as the show and the food, but there were just some minor things that bugged me. My overall impression and experience was pretty good and it wasn't their fault about my allergies, so I can't blame them for that one. We saw another show and I'll give you that review tomorrow but let me just say, there are other games in town besides DS.

The idea of Branson appeals to me more for the outdoor stuff - fishing, boating, etc than Dixie Stampede.

I'm sure it was and you definitely earned a break. I'll go thru my brochures this weekend if I have time and come up with some ideas/lists.

Well, I wasn't too keen on the idea of DS anyway and the problems you had with your asthma did it for me. I would be in real trouble. I have to take 2 asthma preventatives every day and my asthma can flare up at just about anything-even a cold day, so I don't think that is the place for me.

What I do LOVE is that D got picked!!!! That is so awesome! I bet he was just beeming. :) That right there is worth the asthma and the crowds. :)

Wow, one day maybe we'll see D on one of those fishing shows on t.v. reeling in the big one!

How exciting for y'all that he got picked - and WON to boot :).

I have always wanted to see Dollyworld, but now, not so much the Dixie Stampede lol.

In peace,

I agree Kim, that was worth it all to me. It was so unexpected too. They didn't ask for volunteers or anything, they just came up to us and said "We need your son!" LOL! I never noticed them scouting him out either (bad mom??) so it was totally a surprise. But a great one!

Max, I do have an inhaler but since I so rarely need it (usually after coming in contact with cats, but sometime other animals) that I never even thought to bring it. I wasn't in bad shape or I'd have called my dr for an emergency rescue inhaler but I just was pretty miserable.

I really did enjoy having that kitchen and all the money it saved us! After we grilled the steaks that one night, I kinda wished I'd brought some burgers and dogs too for another night. But I think my mom would have expected to at least go out for dinner on occasion:)

I'm not a wine drinker and didn't realize they would be giving me so many to try. I think all of them together still would probably only add up to one glass but that is still a lot for me since I so rarely drink, however, I did enjoy trying a bunch of different wines and hearing about them too.

LOL, Tawnya, because you know a picture is worth 1,000 words and since I didn't have any pictures, I had to use 1,000 words!!!
