Expected high of 88 and 90% humidity! Rain due this evening; clouds supposed to roll in by 7 and rain soon after. However the morning was clear and sunny. I had a serenity spa experience at 10 a.m. Now there is no spa at this timeshare (boo L), and this did not involve any body treatments, but it was only $15. It was held in a conference room, but by the end of the hour, that did not matter in the least. We had those electric foot-spa baths with scented water. A heated neck-wrap. Lip exfoliater. Joint oil (?) (I didn’t really get that concept, I only used it on my elbows and shoulders, even though the spa lady said it was also for knees, but I didn’t think to wear shorts and didn’t want to stretch out my pants legs, I already had them rolled up for the foot soak). Hand scrub. Facial masque. Eye masque. Hand/nail moisturizer. And when the water in the foot soak had cooled off, the spa lady moisturized/massaged our feet and put little socks on us (I wonder why she didn’t want us to keep the socks - weird). While our feet were in heaven, we had the face and eye masques on, and lovely spa music was playing while the lady narrated a relaxation/de-stress speech. Ladies, let me tell you, the ONLY thing missing was a massage to bliss me out! What a shame I couldn’t just lie back and go to sleep lol. I had to buy the eye masque, $18.50 well spent IMO. Well, $33.50 for the total cost.
I went back to our room to grab a snack, then we headed out on errands, I had 3 goals in mind: Weight Watchers, Mouse Memories, and one bottle of correction fluid.
Well I was shocked to learn I have lost 1.8 lbs. in 2½ weeks! That with all that yummy stuff at the F&WF too J. BTW, the WW food plan is being redone, due to be released the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It still uses points, but that’s all I could learn. Almost all the merchandise in WW offices and online is on sale, too. I bought the Healthy Cooking Basics book, it was only $7 and no s/h either lol.
Then it was off to Mouse Memories. Mousememories.com is a scrap booking website. They offer tons of guess what, but they also offer non-Dis themed stuff too. And their warehouse is in Kissimmee, and it’s open to the public. I’d gone there in 2007 with my kids and Chris, and bought my first Disney scrapbook stuff. I went today to mostly check the clearance section though. I got a Hanukkah die-cut set, a sheet of Pooh and friends stickers, and a sheet of graduation rub-ons for Danielle’s grad album. The Pooh stickers were mainly for Eyeore, my niece who just joined the army loves Eyeore. Don’t yet know where I’ll use the Hanukkah stuff but it will go somewhere eventually.
A quick stop at a Staples got my correction fluid, I have so many changes to my date book for December that it’s becoming a mess. And I hate using pencil, so I have to clean up the crossed-out stuff lol. I am an office nerd.
Then it was back to our hotel for swimming! Oh, it was lovely. Not as much time as I wanted but lovely all the same.
But by 5:15 we were back in the room getting dressed to go to Epcot! We took a couple of sandwiches and bottles of water and we were off. Boys 2 Men were at Eat to the Beat from Nov. 1 to 3, and it was my last chance to see and hear them. We got past the bag-check when I felt it … a raindrop! Dh reminded me of that weather forecast, for once the stupid weatherman was right tsk. Well neither one of us had taken even a hoodie, and we also didn’t have the poncho for the scooter (the steering column can’t get wet, that’s where all the electric stuff is). So regretfully we headed back to the car. We ate some of our supper and decided to just go home and shower and put on a video.
On our way back, dh wondered out loud about all the cheesy-looking souvenir stores along the roads, so we stopped at two of them. They actually seem to have Disney-licensed stuff, not what I remember from 2007, although they do have that general Florida themed stuff too. Most of it is the kind of stuff you can also find at Walmart, in fact some of it is the exact same stuff Walmart carries. And the prices are similar to WM’s too. But we saw a bag that we actually own, my sister got it for me years ago when she went to DW, and it is still sold in the parks now, the store had the same price tag on it that is in the parks - weird IMO.
Then it was home for much-needed showers ;) and grown-up "play" time :smileywink:.
It’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow, not sure what we’ll do. I suggested to dh a movie at DTD since we have free passes … or maybe we can find an indoor mall. I know that the outlet malls are outdoors and only parts of them are partially protected from the elements, but if it’s raining as hard as I’ve seen it this week, that will not be good. I’ve seen a lot of advertising in the ad brochures for The Florida Mall, but I cannot find out if it is an indoor mall, I’ll have to call them tomorrow if we decide to go.
Friday is supposed to be partly cloudy but no rain, so that is our day for AK, then maybe back to Epcot for some more F&WF stamps J. It would be so cool to me to get all of them and the completion stamp lol, I’m such a kid ;).
