Jetting off to Rome (ITALY!!!!) for the weekend

On Tuesday, when I got my allergy shots, my left arm swelled up and I had a reaction the size of a football! So I had that going for me. So when I got on the plane in Omaha on Thursday morning, my left arm was hot, red, swollen and soooo itchy and my right arm was wrapped in a squeezing sleeve from armpit to fingertip, so I had all that going for me on a transatlantic flight:) Nothing was going to hold me down, though. My mom and her friend were supposed to be at my house at 7:30 and they showed up at 7 and I hadn't even eaten breakfast yet, so I scarfed down a quick meal, kissed my babies and my sweetie and hopped in and we were off. Mom's friend's son was driving and mom and her friend were in the backseat. Shirley was sick and coughing the whole way there. I kept thinking that by the time I got to Rome, I'd have the contagion. But my mom took one for the team and sat with her and when I got home, of course my poor mother was ill.

It was raining and chilly on the way to Omaha and I was hoping that it wouldn't cause any delays. My plane was taking off at 10:30. So I got to the airport and said goodbye to Mom and went through security. They scanned my passport and took my luggage and I was off. So I sat and waited the two hours and then got on the plane. The flight to Atlanta went smoothly and no problems. I had a pretty good layover when I got to ATL so I stopped at one of the many, many, many TGIFridays in the airport and got myself some expensive lunch. Little did I know that it was probably going to be my cheapest meal of the trip:) It was really good though and I was kind of enjoying my adventure on a European trip all by my lonesome.

After lunch, I headed for my gate and there I saw LOTS of people who were also EF Tours people. I met two other Girl Scout leaders who were on my trip and a bunc h of teachers who are going to be group leaders and got to go on the free trip too. After I got on the plane, I met another GS leader who was sitting near me. I got lucky. I was on an end seat in the middle of the plane. The way the plane is laid out is: two seats, aisle, four seats, aisle and then two more seats.

Okay, so I played with a looping banner and wiped out part of response.

YAY! You were off!! It's great that you met some others headed where you were headed. :)

Dang. I forgot my kid at school. Well, he's out in 15 minutes-time to go get him. Will catch up on these when I get back!

It was nice. We chatted about fundraising and they gave me some tips, which I loved. They were just very friendly.
