OK, so this will be a really short beginning to our TR because only a couple of my pictures downloaded before my computer crashed but here is what I have.
We got up Monday morning at 6:30 and got the kids up. They were ready to go! We jumped in the car and headed down to the car rental place to get the van we rented. It was a white 2010 Chrysler Town and Country and it drove really nice. The doors were automatic, which was nice and the only complaint I had was there wasn't much in the way of cargo room. We got back home and my mom was already there after dropping off her dog. We loaded up the van, and were on our way to... McDonalds! lol,. None of us had had breakfast, so we decided to stop and eat. Right off the bat, Hannah was giving us attitude. I was hoping that wasn't going to last the whole trip. We ate and were on our way by around 10 am. Since my mom and I have both had blood clots, the plan was to stop at least every hour and a half to get out and move around so that is what we did. The ride was nice and soon enough we had made it to our first stop- Osceola, Missouri and the cheese factory. It's just right on the side of the road and it boasts over 200 varieties of cheese and best of all - FREE samples!!! Donovan was in his glory. He loves samples (who does't???) and he wanted to try everything. We even ate Chocolate cheese!!!! Hannah spit it out but Mom and I thought it was ok. Sort of like fudge but creamier. I ended up buying dill cheese- which D called Pickle cheese, and then some with ham in it. They had all kinds of yummy snacks there and I could have spent all day looking and spending too, but soon enough we moved on. Here are some of the shots. We laughed about the sign that said "Ewes in the Country". Yep, we sure were!!! Also, there seems to be a big Amish population there, as we ran across an Amish fella and his horse a couple of times, which I thought was pretty interesting. Oh, and look, I have hair!!!
