Well somebody had to do it ;).
Last March when we went to WDW BTMRR was shut down. I just read on FB that this time around Splash Mountain will be closed. GRRRRR. Oh well. It does say Splash Mountain is to be shut in through 3/19th - we leave 3/16th, I guess I can hope the work is completed early. And we will get to see the new stuff.
I was JUST going to come here and ask if you have seen this. Grrrrrr! I am so dissapointed for you and for my client that is going for the first time. I know that whenever they did it someone would miss out, I just wish it would not be you guys. I'm hoping for a soft opening that week.
BTMRR and Goofy's Plane (a/k/a The Great Goofini) are Makayla's favorites. And she missed out on both last year.
Splash Mountain is Maddie's favorite and she did get a lot of miles out of it last year.
This is the last March trip I see us taking. If I had not already booked airfare I'd consider a cruise at this point.
I have to say, I totally understand. It's exspensive, crowded and now you have to miss out on a favorite ride...again.
You could always do a cruise from Port Canaveral during that time.
Yup, but it would have to be one that ended by Friday - as my flight home on Saturday is pretty early. HA! I imagine that would make John green. I would think adding a cruise would be $$$$$$ at this point.
Soooo I just played with the idea of going to WDW for a few days (CL AKL w/the stay, play & dine package) - then a 7 day cruise on either the RCCL Freedom of the Seas or the CCL Dream - and the WDW/cruise package was actually less $.
I have SW for my flight coming home, and I think they allow changes. I've not flown SW before to know for sure. But now you have me thinking. Course, it may just bug the crud out of John. But I like the idea of seeing MK, AK & maybe one other park, then having a relaxing 7 night cruise.
Wouldn't you hate me though if I changed? Again, I an just imagine the pouting green John trying to come up with vacation time.
NCL also has a 7 night out of Tampa. But I'm not sure I'd want to rent a car to get down to Tampa to sail.
I didn't even look at the DCL ships - I know by now March would have to be rough on prices. RCCL/CCL were not bad at all.
Hmmm, if I could add the Barbie package to the Freedom of the Seas in March, I could skip the Allure next November and keep the CCL Magic for next Thanksgiving. That would save me money. Crap. . .now I'm thinking, and thinking.
John's head would spin if I started talking to him about these. . . . .why is it so hard to leave some vacations alone?
LOL! I just sent you a FB message about this. I was playing too. With them closing some stuff down and you having been to WDW before, it IS tempting to change. I feel ya there.
I thought about your trip too Tawnya and was hoping that you wouldn't be affected. *sigh* Disney knows how to throw a wrench in a plan doesn't it?
Oh no Tawnya! I was hoping your trip was early enough that you wouldn't get messed up by Splash Mountain being closed.
As of Friday, my DD Candice, her b/f and my two grandsons are now going to WDW with us. They won't be there the whole time we are (they are 3/6th - 3/12th, we are staying through the 16th). I have been on disboards requesting designs to make shirts so I can let them boys know as a Christmas present. So far, I've managed to avoid the Rustmanfan.
My DD is driving me nuts. We are going Spring Break - so I keep telling her we need to look at dining. She isn't moving as fast as I'd like. My DDs now want me to switch our Hollywood & Vine to Sci Fi, as they think the boys would love Sci Fi, and they want to eat there with them. Sigh. So, the switching up begins.
Also, one of my DDs teachers loves WDW. She was telling the girls about her favorite ride, so now they want to ride it. They couldn't remember the name - but they described it to me. It's like an old haunted building, you go up on an elevator - and then the elevator falls. UGH, I think we may be trying the Tower of Terror?! OMgosh. My DDs are such scaredy cats - but they claim they want to try it.
Okay - so we were watching Rush Hour 3. There is a scene in a Paris Hotel - they start to make out. I sat up, paid really close attention - my DH really perked up over my reaction. He started to wiggle his eye brows at me (seriously). I smiled and said "I wonder what hotel that is, the rooms look big and you get a view of the Eiffel Tower". Oh my word his expression was priceless. I mean really, I was checking out the hotel, he was checking out the "action". LOL
Oh - I did come up to google the hotel. Naturally.
I put this under Disney, as we do plan to visit DL while there. Although if I can pull this off, it is still 3 years away - it's fun to research.
