Any experience on selling on ebay?

I've been trying to come up with ways to make some money.  One idea is to start unloading "stuff" online.  I've tried sellling some stuff on kijiji or ebay.  Haven't had too much luck with kijiji and haven't tried ebay yet.  I've been looking online to see what I need to know to make selling better.  We did sell some sheep a year ago on kijiji, but a video/dvd player I was trying to sell for $80 (brand new, paid over $120) only got me one offer of $20 and a few inquiries.

Any ideas?

I've bought on ebay plenty of times Brigitte but have never sold anything, so I don't really have any tips for you.  Does the ebay site have a section on ways to improve your chances of selling?  I assume they do, and you've probably already looked there.  Sorry, I'm not much help at all I'm afraid.

Good luck.  I have not. My cousin in New York used to sell alot of books on ebay.  I don't think she does it any more.  Maybe she got all her books sold and has no more.

I would not even know how to start to sell there, not that I have anything I can sell to begin with. hahaha
Good luck........

Elaine, I've looked on the faq page and found some interesting stuff there. I figured I'm going to start out with something "that I don't care about" like a book or record or something that I've got lying around where I don't care if I even make much money or not and then see how it goes.

Linda, I figured I'd start with books, too. They're easy to describe, ship etc. I've got a ton of books that I have no use for any more. I know of people who go to garage sales and second hand stores, buy stuff cheap and then double their money or more online. I don't think I really want to get into that, but it's always another idea to make money.
