Happy New Year

Hope you all made it through the New Year boozing, partying, eating etc.  It was quiet around here on New Year's Eve.  We caught up on James Bond movies and almost missed midnight Wink.  We had sorted the calves out for weaning, so I didn't make it into town to get some sort of bubbly (we usually buy some carbonated cider), so we each toasted with what we had (milk, water and ice tea Laughing).

The New Year brought some very cold days and nights with it.  We had -29C on Wednesday night, but thankfully no wind, so it wasn't colder then the thermometer showed.  Actually our indoor/outdoor thermometer had given up and only showed this: -- .  I think it stops at about -25C, so we ended up using the one in the van instead.  B.R.R.R.R.

DH went back to work today and I'm trying to get the kids back into going to sleep a little earliers, so come Monday they will be able to get up in time for the school bus.  Other then that we're all sharing a cold Frown.  The two oldest had gone to visit their Grandmother over the Christmas Holidays and she was still trying to get rid of hers, so they brought it here.  Not happy.  I thought I'd get spared, but yesterday I started sneezin and getting stuffed up.  Will have to drug myself to get stuff done, cause DH spent most of yesterday sleeping and with him working today I'm expecting him to go back to bed as soon as he comes home.

What's going on with you?

And a Happy New Year to you Brigitte.  We also had a quiet one, it was just DH and I at home.  We stayed up to watch the Sydney fireworks on TV then went to bed.

Goodness, I can barely imagine temperatures as cold as yours, I don't know how you manage.  On the other hand, we are having heatwave conditions here at the moment, it was 40C here yesterday, going for 37C today, some towns in Australia had temps up to 48C yesterday.  Our DD lives in Melbourne and she phoned when she got home form work on Friday to say it was still 42C after 6 o'clock.  She had a slow train trip home because some tracks had buckled in the heat on some lines, so they had to travel at reduced speeds.

I hope everyone has recovered from their colds by now!

Hey Linda, glad you found us. I know it's been a trying time again with the changes, but hopefully it's all done with. How did you spend your New Years?
