Anyone ever make cake pops?

I've made them a few times before, and they always turn out well. I was going to make a batch to take to Lucy's preschool party that was today. I made up a batch, but then they all fell off the sticks after I'd finished them. I think it was because I usually dip the stick in melted chocolate before putting the cake pop on. This time, I used caramel. I think it might have not been true caramel and more of a caramel dipping sauce. I don't think it was stickey enough to hold it all together. :(
I wound up making a grocery store run for 2 dozen cupcakes late last night.

Hm. I think this was made in one of those cake pop makers; and if it was a boxed mix, it wasn't a very good one. Yours sound like they would be tasty. I'm a sucker for frosting. :)
I've never made cake pops, but I've had a cake pop and it was dry and disappointing. :( Sorry that yours didn't turn out at such a crucial time.
