Oh, me, me!
Jess, I'd love some Asian recipes!
Kim, we make a monthly-or-so trip to Costco in the US and it actually works out pretty well.
I do monthly.
Here is the way I menu plan dinners.
Every month has in theory 4 days of each weekday and each week day has a set main ingredient, something that is on sale the day I am going shopping, I check the flyers the same day and plan from there.
So lets made imaginary menu.
Wednesday: Ground beef
Thursday: Chicken tights
Freddy: Homemade fast food ( I do this as treat for us)
Sundays: stew meat.
And all I have to do now is goggling and checking magazines and cookbooks for 4 recipes for each day and I have a whole month of dinners. I then try to set the dinner so the ingredients matches each other so I use up all I buy. I even plan Sunday desserts this way.
Thanks for sharing. What a interesting idea!!
Are you repeating recipes each month or is there almost always a new recipe each week?
Do you use a slow cooker? Or a rice maker?
I do have a crock pot, but it mostly used for jam or parties because it is slightly too big and I don't have a rice cocker because for me it isn't needed.
We have a few favorites that comes back and I add new recipes every month, I just love cooking and cooking in season is my favorite.
Repartitions doesn't in my view teach children to enjoy food, they shouldn't know it is the third Monday of the month due to the food or as some one else who knew what day it was due to dinner, she got the 7 same dishes week in and week out at home, except holiday until she moved away.
