Throwing food off the tray, or removing food from mouth and throwing it on the floor

I haven't been on this board much, and I should check it more often for my own sanity, but I need your help. My 15 month old son is getting 4 molars right now. I know his mouth is in pain and we are giving him motrin to help. He is also getting softer foods and things he likes to help him while he chews. BUT he is throwing everything off the tray and even out of his mouth. It's not so much a pain thing, but a "I can do this, nana nana booboo" thing. He looks right at you and holds it out, then drops it right when you get there to take it away. It's making me really upset. I can't find anything he wants to eat. He also has a dairy allergy, so I really have to hand make everything he eats. It's hard to make all this "from scratch" food to have him toss it off the tray, then cry because he is hungry.

I'm with Jen on this one... 3 strikes and they are done. Mine have all gone through this phase and if you are consistent it will end pretty quick.

DS used to do that. I would give him three tries to stop. "No, we don't throw food." If he did it a third time, he would be done and we'd try again later. Once he figured out that he'd be removed from the table and I wasn't playing, he stopped. I know how frustrating it is. This is such a challenging age! I'm sure the teething isn't helping either.
