Maybe I'm Paranoid, But...

...I'm really worried about my oldest son being dyslexic.  Supposedly it runs in families, and if it does, it's likely that it runs on DH's side.  I know that DS1 is only just learning to read, but after two years of doing his alphabet he still mixes up Ps, Qs, Ds, and Bs, and he reads and sometimes writes syllables backwards (nu instead of un, for example).  How much trouble should a child have learning to read?  Okay, that's a stupid question as I write it.  Is the trouble he's having in the normal range, I guess?  I want to ask his teacher but PTIs aren't for a few weeks yet and I'm just so worried.  I want to be able to help him NOW if he is dyslexic, rather than waiting until he's a year or more ahead and still having trouble.  I would worry less if I knew that he was than just thinking that he might be.  I'm not saying he is; I just don't know, and I don't want him to fall behind.  He's a very bright kid (I'm biased, yes, but everyone else says so too) and I would hate to see him lose interest in learning just because he struggles with reading.  And then, is my worry normal, or am I just being paranoid?  Overreacting, probably, but apart from that, is my worry well-founded?  I wish parenting were easy.
