Of all the books by Nicholas Sparks that I've read, I think this is my least favorite. I have actually read all of his books that are out to date and I think that this one is hard for us as readers to comprehend for two reasons. First, it doesn't really give us a chance to know the characters and be immersed in their lives. Second, it hurts to read the end about one spouse forgetting the other. In a way, it's not something that any of us ever WANT to relate to, so it's hard to say, "I really enjoyed that book!"

If you go and read "The Wedding" now, it really does give insight to this book. However, if you want to read a really great books by Nicholas Sparks, I'd suggest "The Rescue" or "A Bend in the Road". I think that "The Rescue" is my favorite of his to date.

What are we reading next??

OK - now if we go to read The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks you will get a little more insight to these characters. I've read The Wedding and really liked it too. It's a longer than The Notebook - which I didn't like how short it was either - and has a little twist that you have to pay attention to the read to not smack yourself on the forehead when you finally figure it out with a huge DUH!!!

I didn't particpate because I saw the movie, which I cried through. Too much crying. So I didn't feel like crying anymore. :-)

The movie was good, but it should have ended a little earlier, the ending was a duh. But it was good. My Grandma had Alzheimer's.

Ok, heres my jist about how I felt about the book.
I liked it somewhat, thought it was short though. Did not really make me want to watch the movie if it was based completley on the book.
I think they could have put more detail about the characters and their life after those first few days toether.
I cannot wait to see the movie, but hope it is nothing like the book.

OK - library finally had the book yesterday and I finished it this afternoon. I really liked it! Can't wait to see the movie now =}

I love stories like this because it makes me long for those things and although my hubby is a great man - he's not a hopeless romantic, which I would absolutely love to turn him into. He's definitely got his moments though.

I liked that the book was actually based on real people, even though he changed up a few things.

I'm going to wait on any questions and see if anyone else has any - I really don't.

I am probably going to get "yelled" at for this one, but I didn't really enjoy the book that much! It was okay, just not one of my favorites. It was sad and all that, but didn't touch me the way some of his other books did. The movie previews look so good, so I was very excited about reading it - and I felt let down when I did! Oh well, I guess maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a love story!
