My 10 month old dd keeps unbuckeling her carseat! Not the buckel between her legs but the chest restraint, you know the kind where the strap hooks under the chest buckel... I think its called a 5 point restraint - anyway, I am so worried that she isnt safe back there - does anyone have a suggestion? Every time I go to get her out of the seat she has unbuckeled the chest restraint, I dont know how to teach her not to - since I cant see her while she is doing it. Please help! THANKS!

Yikes...sounds like you have a busy little bee..Why not keep those busy little fingers busy, try color wonder markers and coloring books, makes no mess on the seats. My kids also have a soft toy box beside their seat with soft toys in it for safety..works out great.

Good Luck

Yup she is a very busy girl, very smart for her age ( and Im not just saying that cause Im her mamma...well maybe a little ) But I have tried everything I can think of. I always give her a sippy cup and I even put ice in it so she can shake it and it will make noise and we have an abundance of toys in our car, infact it looks like a virtual playroom back there. She isnt ready for the markers, she is still in the "I must put everything in my mouth to make sure it tastes good" stage which includes markers, crayons, paper... pretty much anything. But, I will go out and get some for her older brother! Still I just dont know what to do about that dang carseat!

i personaly think this is a recall issue...if a 10 mo old can undo that latch , that is there for safety, i think i'ts faulty....i would call the co. and let them know of the problem, and that you feel it is a very unsafe seat.....see what they have to say...... no way could my girls get their latch undone, it was even hard for me to do....shouldnt be that easy for a kid..

Have you tried getting a new car seat? One with a diffrent design?
I don't have much advice, my son did the same, but me sitting down and talking with him about why he is in one and why it is not good to do it, he stopped.
Have you tired explaining to her why she wears one and why it is not safe to take it off?
Good luck.....
