I am a new SAHM of my newly turned 2 year old. Besides preschool two mornings a week and a Kindermusic class, I would like to know what all you do with your little ones. I would like to have some structured activities for us to do throughout the week. Here is a list of things we currently do:
-go to the library
-play outside/take walks/ride bikes
-finger paint
-read books

What do you do to help your child learn and spend quality time with them?

I have some great activity books for ages 2 all the way up to 7. I am a SAHM with an 11 1/2 yr old and 16 month old (both boys). I also have a small inhome daycare with 5 kids ranging from 16 1/2m to 5y. I need ideas to keep them busy.

Some fun things that the younger ones like, are sorting things in different containers (bean bags in egg cartons, etc. Making tunnels for cars out of toilet paper & paper towel tubes. Making music sticks, drums out of oatmeal containers, then we sing and do finger plays. I also take my own to the beach on nice days, make rivers in the sand, draw on stones (if you don't have a beach near by, you can do this at home too). They also all love to help cook, even the toddlers with wooden spoons, plastic bowls, and sometimes we put crumbled up newspaper in the bowls if what the bigger kids are making is too messy.

Hope these are helpful ...have fun, this time will go by so fast.

I have a 2yr old, and she loves watercolors, finger paints, play dough, and I put shaving cream on the activitiy table and give her popsicle sticks, spoons, etc., she has a ball playing with it, its messy, but it keeps her entertained for a long time.
