Hi all, I am new to THIS board. I would love to stay home with my two infants, however, my H and I really couldn't afford to live on one income. Is there anyway to stay home and still earn a full-time income?

Not really answering your question about the extra income but I would search Craigs List and look for legitimate offers...depending on what your work background is.

on the other side of this...I have been trying to get our money straight to stay home too...
one book that has helped is "You can afford to stay home with your kids...a step by step guide for converting your family from two incomes to one" by malia wyckoff and mary snyder.

Pick up a copy at your local library or order used at amazon.com

Good luck...

Please don't let the PPs make you feel bad; some just look for opportunitites to judge those who can't SAH or spout off their dogma without offering any real solutions as to how to make more money at home. I don't believe it's true for everyone that "if you really want to SAH, you could" -- maybe, maybe not, and at what cost -- getting behind on bills or not having a college fund or retirement savings? Trading in cars or giving up a cell phone might save up to $500, but that's not really much at all, so I understand the issue. You will notice other posts on the board about financial stress resulting from SAH, so it's a definite reality. If you can't afford to SAH right now, don't feel bad. If you can never afford to SAH, your children will be fine, as long as you love them and spend as much time with them as you can outside of work. I hope and expect that you will be able to SAH one day, if that's what you want.
