Honestly, she just doesn't care what her clothes look like, or anything else for that matter. She pays no attention whatsoever to her surroundings, as far as anything that may be messy. Yes, she is just a kid, so I should expect her to be a bit messy/dirty. But, she is usually just filthy - today being no exception. I dressed her and Molly in matching velour jogging suits. Molly's is pale pink - still is, not a speck of dirt or lunch on it. Katie's on the other hand has a filthy butt, sleeves are coated in who knows what and the whole front of the jacket has black streaks all over it. I am just sick and tired of her not taking a bit more pride in how she looks. She is 9 - will she ever outgrow this? Sheesh!
Thanks for letting me vent - I'm off to buy all black for her. LOL!

I will admit to having been a kid slob..lol
I know it is not funny since you probably hate buying clothes that she is going to ruin. What my mom did was to buy me play clothes at resale shops and garage sales and dress me in mostly dark clothes unless it was a holiday. You should see my old school photos of when I was younger!!! lol In most every one I am wearing a scraggly ponytail and you can clearly see a few dirt smudges in some.
you sound like you're describing Natalie LOL
Every day the kid comes home filthy and covered in marker. She used to have nice, white clothes... now they look like they belong in a rag bin. And yes, I'm with Traci... hit the resale shops for dark colored clothes. That's what I'm doing from now on too ;o)
Thanks girls - you know I love her, I just don't love how unappreciative she is of her nice things. Sigh - hopefully she will hit the age soon where it WILL matter what her clothes look like (I'm in trouble then too, aren't I? LOL!). Anyhow, I should go take her clothes out of the washer and see if everything came out with the Shout!!
