AHH!! Melted crayon! What to do??

Grrr. . . My kids left a red crayon in the crack of the far back seat of the minivan! The interior is gray leather. I'm not too sure how long the crayon was there, but IT MELTED INTO THE CRACK OF THE SEAT!!

OK, I'll stop yelling now. . . Michael was cleaning the van--washing it on the outside, vacuuming the inside, steamcleaning the carpetting, armoraling the dashboards, windexing the windows, etc. I was hanging out talking to him, and he discovered the crayon. He chipped off the melted waxy part, but the red was still there. I got babywipes and tried to clean it up more, but it looks like it stained the leather. Which neither one of us understands, because aren't kiddie crayons supposed to be non-toxic and basically child-friendly, and therefore stain-free when they melt??

I'm the one who's upset about this. Michael doesn't really care (it's not HIS car, LOL!). It just bothers me when something of value is permanently ruined by something preventable. We've had this van exactly 1 year this month!

Does anyone have any suggestions at all as to how to get red crayon dye out of pale gray leather?

My kids are soooooooooo messy!! HELP!

I hope you can get it out!!!! I know I would definitely be upset too :o(

I am not sure, but I sure hope you can get it out.
Maybe the car dealership might have some suggestions to get it out or maybe some color to put over it to match what you have.

Try Crayola's website. A couple of years ago I had the same scenario with a yellow crayon in the back seat. I remember someone guiding me to crayola's website, and they had info. on cleaning up crayon.

Good luck - and its not just your kids who are messy! LOL!

Sofia, the ladies gave you fab advise, (as always)

but as far as the Mr Clean Magic Erasers...make sure you use the regular one...not the "super scrub" with the abrasive one side, as its leather and all lol. I know, it might sound dumb, but my friend had the same thing happen recently, and I told her to use mr clean magic eraser...she bought the "fancy" new one with one half soft pad, and one half scouring pad....she's not the "sharpest scalpel on the tray" if you kwim lol?

yikes, she did some damage lol. USE THE SOFT SIDE...or if need be, use the scrubby side GENTLY lol!!!
