Am I too sensitive?

Heres my gripe: Dh had to stay in town to be on call on Tuesday night so that meant that he was at work from Tuesday morning until Wednesday afternoon. He gets home on Wednesday evening drops his bag and walks to the bedroom. He says he is tired but feels guilty for taking a nap since he just got home. He comes out of the bedroom and sees the strawberry milk stain on the carpet that Logan had made and I tried to clean up. He blows a gasket and says how nobody cares how the apartment looks except him!!! Calls me names and goes to bed for a nap. I served lasgna for supper and woke him up. After dinner he decides to take a walk and asks me to go. My tummy was hurting so I didn't want to be away from the bathroom if you know what I mean. So I got the kids ready and he was getting impatient waiting for us, so he took the elevater down. I got the kids coats on and sent them down to meet him. I look out the balcony and the kids are by themselves and DH is about a block ahead of them!!! He didn't wait for them. So after about 45 minutes later they come in and DH goes back to the bedroom to watch TV. I tried to get him to talk to me what was bothering him. He gets mad at me because he is trying to watch TV. In the middle of the argument, he says what do you want from me. I took the kids for a walk and gave you 45 minutes of peace. In that 45 minutes I cleaned up the kitchen and loaded up the dishwasher. It was like that 45 minutes of having the kids one on one was a chore for him. He will be on call this weekend so he will be away from Friday morning until Monday afternoon. We will go visit him but it isn't the same. I hate doing the single parent thing. Oh and by the way, his bag is still right inside the door even though I asked him to pick it up this morning. MEN!!!!

(((Tami))) You just vent away, girl!! I can certainly relate to the on-call, hubby away for hours part of your post! I am sending you lots of cyber hugs. Oh, and I LOL at the bag inside the door, because that would be Michael, too. He has a backpack at work, and if he brings it home at all to change the stuff in it, he leaves it in the laundry room for me to empty. He also dumps his scrubs and white coat on the floor by the bed as he strips and goes to bed after working all night. Invariably I find them there. And he drapes his ties over the bannister going up the stairs if he wears a suit to work instead of scrubs. So your DH's bag by the door made me laugh. It is the same thing over here!!

Next time he takes them for a walk and gives you 45 minutes, don't clean up. Do something fun for yourself. And let him clean up when he gets back.

Good luck this weekend and hang in there!
