have a husband who thinks that because he works all day that when he gets home that he shouldn't have to do anything with the kids and should be able to go out with his friends whenever he wants?

Thank goodness my hubby is very family oriented. He likes to plan activities for us all to do. And when he does go out with his friends, he takes Roslyn and they take their kids so they can all play while the guys hang out and work on their four wheelers!!

My dh works 13 hours a day, so by the time he has finished his work day he is so tired to even think about anything other than coming home to be w/ his family.

My husband used to and still has the occasional set back. I have a one year old DD and we have come to an understanding and schedule. It took a long while for him to get the difference between going into work and staying home with a/the child/ren. I took the advise of the ladies here and left him alone for a full day. I finally received some respect.

Now after work he comes home and takes DD for at least an hour, then he feeds her dinner, and gives her a bath. That is now the minimum. I hope you can sit down and try to explain the emotional difference between going to work and working at home. Also try to give a little, I have also giving in on 3 nights a week DH is allowed (after DD is in bed) to play his x-box without any word from me. Showing him you can compromise in his favor a little will help.

Good Luck

I know I do!!!!!

My husband and I both work from home, I do almost the same amount of work, but I am the sole house cleaner and I do EVERYTHING and I mean everything for and with my kids too. He does stuff with the kids on the weekends sometimes when it's convenient for him.

Does he not realize I have the same amount of work that he does PLUS everything else??? We've had endless fights about this and I don't think it will ever get better.

Good luck with your husband. How long have you been married?

The thing that I am afraid of is that if I left him home alone with the kids all day long that he would just sit and watch tv and that when I came home it would be a disaster!

That's why you load the kids up with sugar before you leave, so he won't have a moment's rest! LOL!

Hang in there!
