Oh ya.. lots of miles. And points... he could take us anywhere right now and we would use his points to fly.. none of us would need to purchase a ticket... We had 2 kids before hos travelling job.. Hes been doing sales for 6 years now and now with three kids, its only when im really tired that it gets hard for me. Otherwise i think its alright, im used to him being gone lots..

Mine is never gone on business overnight but he's gone 12-15 hours per day Monday-Saturday. And often he goes out in the evenings with his friends. I have two kids 4 and 1 year old that I am home with. It's tiring sometimes.

Not quite the same as you but I can understand DH being gone alot.

My husband travels Monday through Friday. It's not easy but I've gotten used to it, and it's definitely better now that the boys are older (9, 7, and 5). We don't have any frequent flyer points because he always drives (we live in Georgia and his sales territory is Alabama, so he can drive). But we do have lots of hotel points, so that's good.

No, but mine has crazy work hours. On average 2 nights/week, he works an overnight shift 10 - 6, but he usually doesn't get home until closer to 9, because he works through morning rounds. So then he sleeps half the day when he gets home. Sometimes he is called out in the middle of the night, sometimes he works overtime very late. On Monday nights he teaches a class. He's gone a lot, and I have 4 kids--including 2 year-old twin daughters--so I know it can be very tiring.

That must be rough for you to have him gone every other week. I can't imagine. You have my sympathies!! Come here & gripe whenever you need to.

Dan used to be in the Navy, so I don't know if that counts as "business" or not, but it took him away from home a lot, and for great lengths of time too. Even when he was in port he had to stay over night on the submarine he was stationed on every 4th night. In a continuous rotation for the 8 1/2 years he was enlisted. It sucked! I remember when Caroline was 18 months someone asked me how much of her life Dan was out to sea for, I counted it up and it was 9 months. He'd missed exactly half of her life!
