I'd love to hear from anyone getting geared up for back to school. Are you happy or sad?? I'm undecided!! I honestly miss my girls when they go back, but this year I won't have to drive them because my oldest will have her license!!(YEAH???) I look forward to hearing from you!!LOL

Hi,

We are homeschoolers so our planning is me finishing up the lesson plans.

Matt(7) was in private school last year so I will definetely not miss the early morning drives to school.

I am excited about Matt going to a science class at the local college while Nick(2) and I go to our local MOPS group!

My baby starts pre-school this year, I am kinda sad, for two years it has been just me and him around the house. I odn't have any supples yet, I am waiting for tax free weekend and get most of it done then. I love to wait until the last minute, I have no idea why, I just do.

I am not sure if I am sad or happy.
This is Andrew's first year of school. The big K.
He is excited about going, so that is good.
I am just going to miss him so much since I have had him 24/7 for 5 years. He is growing up too fast.

I'm ready for my dd to go to Kindergarten. She loves school. She was in Preschool already and her schedule is still the same this year (9-11:30.) So the only thing different is she will be at a different school. Her Preschool was only about a minute from our house and her Kindergarten is only seconds from our house!! Very convenient. She also already knows some of the kids that will be in K with her because she went to Preschool with them or they are neighbors. We live in a great neighborhood with wonderful schools...the best in town.

I'm not sure what is going on with my ds yet when it comes to school. It's causing me migraines. He is supposed to be attending a Special Preschool again this year (only attended last year for the last 8 weeks because he had been on a waiting list), but instead of going as a "typically" developing child in with special needs children this year we were told by his Doctors to request a Multifactored Evaluation. He can't keep up with his peers and his teacher at my request gave me her daily evaluation of him confirming this. That was only after 8 weeks. His Doctors think that he should qualify as a child with a disability so that he can receive the help that he needs during school. He is a mild case so he seems to be slipping through the cracks and nobody wants to help us. I don't really care for the school. It's on the other side of town, pretty old and run down and they do things totally different (example..at my dd preschool you had to sign your child in and out daily...here nothing), but it is the only special preschool in town. He is not able to attend a regular preschool since he can't keep up with his peers. It's like he is not "bad" enough to be a child with a disability, but he is not "good" enough to handle a regular Preschool. He just doesn't seem to fit in anywhere and it really, really frustrates me. I have even e-mailed the head of the Preschools in our town and she tries to sympathize with me, but so far hasn't been able to help much with anything.

Thanks for listening! I really needed to vent some.
