My 8 month old son has started rolling his eyes. When he does this, he rolls his head back slightly and arches his back a little. I don't know if this is normal or not. I've looked online and some people say that they have found something new to do and not to worry. My husband 3 half-brothers have Tourettes Syndrome, and I am really nervous that it may be that or some neurological problem. Please let me know if any of you have experienced this same behavior.

Thanks,

Alisha

ok, i didnt want to be the one to have to suggest it, but it sounds like maybe he is having small seizures.......... from what i have seen in medical shows ,and from a mom who had a child have a seizure once, that could be a sign of small seizures, but yes it could also be just something he does..... but when they arch their back ,it is usualy a sign of something neurological...... make an appt with his ped, and let him decide..... and if it is, it's easily controlled thru meds, better to make sure now, then to wait and have worse problems in the future..

yeah hon, you need to take him to the dr, asap. i can't say for sure that it's anything to be concerned about, but when it comes to anything neurological it's better to be safe than sorry. my neighbor's baby (who've i've written about here before) is 8 months old and he does the exact same thing. he has a host of other issues as well, but i don't think eye rolling and back arching are something you see in a healthy baby. i think you should take him in tommorrow.

I agree with the first poster. Before I even read their post...and while I was reading yours..Seizures..came to mind..... I think you should take him in to the DR as soon as possible. Maybe if its seizures they can give him some meds..and they may be cured by the time he starts school.....its just according to what kind they are. Good Luck! Keep us posted!
