Thank god for them.
Those men were lucky and I am so happy to hear that they came out okay. We have already lost enough men and women in this war, no need for more.

Thank you for posting that! What really struck me was the age of one of the marines. My nephew is 17 just 2 years younger than the marine in the story. My nephew is very anxious to join the military and I was just thinking that could have been him!

Does anyone know how you can do those adopt a soilder things? Where you send care packages?

When my Dh and I met we were at a school to help us go to the Navy...that is how we met. We were young though and thought we would just perish if we did not get to see eachother so we made the decision not to go. We both feel guilty now for our choice and wish we had served our country. We try to make up for it by being good citizens and doing our part with voting.

We do want to do more though and would love to do care packages or something!

You know, I am not sure, but I will ask a neighbor of mine. She organized this thing where the kids in her DD class wrote letters to some military members over in Iraq. My DH said that happened once to him when he was in Turkey or Afghanastan or somewhere (he's been to a few conflicts) but anyhow he said it was so awesome to get these handwritten letters from kids (just really cute!). So she might know, I will get back to you on what I find out. :)

Guardian angels are wonderful!

I noticed in another posted that you mentioned that you were on Okinawa. Where? I am a former Marine and was stationed on Okinawa myself.
