Hey Everyone,

I nursed my daughter for a year and last month began my period again.

Michele, (rhetorical question) have you been on any bc while you were breastfeeding? Maybe give a hpt another week or two and try again. Just my personal experience, but I have to buy a store brand test. I bought EPT with Aryc and it gave me a negative. (I was already 2 1/2 months pg!) Then I bought a store brand and two days later we had a positive test. For some reason, EPT just didn't work for me. Maybe try a different brand.

G/L! (And congrats if you are!)

Hey there,

No, I haven't been on any birth control since having the baby.

It's a common misconception, but you really can get pg while breastfeeding. If it were me, I'd definitely take another test in a few weeks. G/L!! :) (As you already know, just don't start bc until you for really, really sure that you're not pg, so you'll have to give it a few weeks to be totally sure.) :) We're all pretty nosey, so please keep us updated! lol :)

I am not alot of help since I got my period at 3 months with my first baby and 2 months with my second. I was exclusively bf when I got it too.

Anyway, I would try another test, but don't be too overly worried. I know plenty of bf moms whose bodies took a few months to get back on a regular pattern after they stopped bf.

Good luck with whatever happens.

I am new to this board but I do have some experience when it comes to all this since over the last 12 years I have had 10 children!!!!!!!! Sometimes that is even hard for me to believe. Anyway I really never got back on a schedule. Sometimes I was pregnant before I even started up again. With the last two pregnancies they are just 12 mos apart almost to the day. I think on this issue you can have all the information that the experts tell you but in the end it comes down to everyone is different. If you think that you might be pg your best bet is to call the doctor and have them do a blood test, I know with our insurance that lab is always free.

i am having the EXACT same problem. my baby is 14 months old and i started my period for the first time last month and haven't started since. i am still nursing though so that may have something to do with it, i am not brave enough to take a test yet. but anyway my doctor told me after i had bentley that it can take up to two years to regulate your cycle but i would go to the docter if you start feeling sick.

Yes all the children are very close in age. Andrew 10, Haleigh 9, Garrett 8, Teagan 6, Savannah 5, Emmett 4, Preston 2, Cheyanna 1 and twins Rebekah (becca) and Isaiah (sammie) are almost 1 mo now. I have the most wonderful husband in the world I do beleive. The only way that I get thru most of the days is with lots and lots of prayer. When we were about to get married we looked into everything about birth control and prayed about it. We decided after a whole lot of reading that we would not use birth control and let God say what our family would entail. Neither of us planned for this. Since I dont home school it is not to bad during the day. I then only have my 1 year old and the twins and most of the time they are sleeping (the twins). However tonight my husband had to work late and it was just one of those days, they all kept fighting and bickering (normally they do not do this) since dad was not home they get away with more right up front. I am sure dad will have some things to say in the morning at breakfast. So anyway we had dinner, I got them all ready for bed and sent to their rooms. I told them if they wanted to read that is fine but I did not want them out of their room until morning. So I am going to go to bed early also, that will give me a little extra sleep until the twins want to eat atleast. Then my husband will be home and want to know how the evening went.

Hope tomorrows better!!!!

Jennifer
